Basically, my railway ticket is booked for 15th May but I got a waitlisted ticket (the best deal available). I've heard many horror stories about waitlist travel in the Indian Railways. There are about 13 days left. The current status is W/L 17 and it's Class 2A Sleeper. The status hasnt changed even one number in the last 3 days. I expected that many cancellations would happen and my status would zoom into the 10s or beyond i.e., into RAC but it's not happening! Now I'm all anxious. I dont think I can put up with the TTEs.
Please use your experience in the Railways and your intuition to make an estimate of my chances of getting a confirmation or RAC status (I'll be fine with RAC).
PS: Just curious. How many Class 2A and Class 3A coaches will be there in a train generally? My train is the Karnataka Sampark Kranthi Express.

Waiting list no. 17 kada you dont have to worry atall. It will deffinately get conformed. Even if it does’nt get confirmed you will get a seat because waiting list kada and you already paid the money.
Call up railway ppl and find out they will say the same thing.
Orelse there is another scheme called “Thathkaal”. For that you have to go the railway station EXACTLY 3 days before the journey i.e on may 11th at 8am( dont go late), stand in the queue for abwt 1/2 hr, pay Rs 150 extra and u ll get ur ticket.

The counter opens at 8.00am, If you are on time you are bound to get ur ticket within no time.
Better dont think about all these rightnow. Just make a call to the concerned ppl on may 10th or so and ask about the status( pacca they’ll say its gonna get confirmed) and the tathkal scheme.

I had booked e-ticket for 3A of amaravathi express it was WL 8,,9,10,11 for 10th may, will it confirmed or not on 10th may we have to go to bellary
